About Us

Dodie Stevens, at age 13, recorded the #1 hit in the country,
"Pink Shoelaces.'. She had international success as well, and
toured worldwide. As a teenager, Dodie appeared several times
on Dick Clark's '"American Bandstand" and Co-starred with
Fabian in her first feature film, "Hound Dog Man".

Over the next four decades, she continued to work in television,
film and stage with Bob Hope, Harry Belafonte, Jerry Lewis,
Johnny Carson, Mac Davis, Loretta Lynn, Boz Scaggs, Frankie
Avalon, her dear friend Annette Funicello, and countless others.
Currently, Dodie performs songs with her talented daughter
Stephanie in "Oldies Shows" from the 50' s & 60's. Most of her
time, however, is spent teaching singing and stage performance
from her studio in Vista, Ca.

Kitty Pretty was conceived and created, by Dodie Stevens for
her beloved cat, Ingy.

When Dodie began teaching singing lessons, students had to
walk by Ingy's unsightly litter box to get to the studio.
In an effort to disguise the box, she began experimenting with
different fabrics and designs. Inspired from her years of stage
performance, she settled upon a "stage curtain" opening for the
cat to enter the box. This provided privacy for Ingy , helped
contain the odor, and reduced the scattered litter.

She knew she had the right combination when, seconds after
placing it over the box, Ingy pushed her nose through and
entered the box with ease.

Dodie's students still do not know they are walking by a litter
box and she is pleased that she doesn't have to hide it any-
